DOH's Theoretical Approach

A theoretical approach refers to a specific framework or perspective used to understand and explain phenomena within a particular field of study. Spiritual Integration

Christianity acknowledges the spiritual dimension of human beings. By incorporating biblical principles and Christian values, counseling, consulting, and coaching can address not only the psychological and emotional aspects but also the spiritual well-being of individuals. This integration recognizes that spiritual health is vital for overall well-being.

Moral and Ethical Framework

Christian values provide a moral and ethical framework that guides decision-making, behavior, and relationships. Integrating these values into practice ensures that the guidance and support offered align with principles such as love, compassion, forgiveness, and integrity. This fosters a sense of accountability, personal growth, and ethical conduct in individuals and organizations.

Source of Hope and Comfort

The Bible offers wisdom, hope, and comfort to individuals in times of struggle, grief, and adversity. By incorporating biblical principles, counseling, consulting, and coaching services can tap into the spiritual resources and truths found in the Scriptures, providing clients with a foundational source of hope, encouragement, and healing.

Wholeness and Integration

Humans are complex beings with physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual dimensions. Integrating biblical principles and Christian values recognizes the importance of addressing the whole person, promoting holistic well-being. It helps individuals integrate their faith and values into their personal and professional lives, fostering a sense of purpose, meaning, and coherence.

Client-Centered Approach

Integrating biblical principles and Christian values into services allows counselors, consultants, and coaches to tailor their support to the specific beliefs, values, and needs of their clients. It acknowledges that faith plays a significant role in the lives of many individuals and creates a safe space for clients to explore their faith, spirituality, and its impact on their mental and emotional well-being.

Transformation and Growth

Christianity emphasizes personal transformation and growth through the power of the Holy Spirit. By integrating biblical principles and Christian values, counseling, consulting, and coaching services can facilitate this transformation process, helping individuals develop resilience, overcome challenges, and experience positive change in their lives.

Focusing on the Five Points of Life

Every area of life is connected to the other. What we do in one area will positively or negatively affect the other areas. By making room for the “whole” of what makes you “you”, health becomes a thing of balance.
